The Happiness Project :: A day trip

My mom and I took a quick trip to Madison, Georgia
to follow part of the Antebellum tour and walk through
a few homes as research for my next book that I am embarking on.

Of course, we just had to stop at the Madison Tea Room
to nibble on treats and enjoy some tea.
You know, to build up strength for the walking tour.

We had so much fun being girly
and trying on some big southern hats.

One of the homes we toured was Heritage Hall
and it was amazing and so much fun.

Take a good look because this will
be the entryway described in my next novel.
So exciting and fun.

I took a hundred photos of every little detail.
I'm sure that the tour guide thought that I was crazy.

It was a great afternoon.

The Happiness Project :: A weekend in the woods

We spent last weekend at the Windmill Plantation.
It was so much fun to watch the boys play in the woods.

I really think there are fewer things in life
more beautiful than watching children enjoy nature.

With all the Minecraft/Pokemon/Skylanders in our lives
it was great to turn the screen off
and get all dirty and sweaty.

We had a blast!

The Happiness Project :: Finding a bargain

Listen y'all, I know it's tacky to brag
about how much you paid for something
but I am just beside myself about these
bevelled glass Irish Coffee mugs that I found.

Get this...they were $1.50 each and
I found them tucked away in the Halloween aisle
at the Dollar General!

Amazing, right?
They were nestled between plastic hatchets
and a row of glittery skeleton heads.

I am just so excited about these beauties.
I've been drinking my morning coffee
out of them and feeling mighty fancy.

I might just have to have a little brunch
so people can come admire my knew glasses.
It's the little things, people.

The Happiness Project :: One last pool day

So the boys are out of school today for a teacher workday.
We are playing at the pool and we have it all to ourselves.

Not a bad way to spend the day!
We're still chasing summer.
