Richie RichSo, I was planning on pontificating about the nostalgia of watching my favourite cartoons with my kid right about now. I even thought about doing a social commentary on how anti-feminist the Flintstones are but, guess who came down the tummy bug? That's right-little ol' me.
Thank God I typed up this post last night before it hit me.
I'm off to eat crushed ice and listen to my baby yell obscenities at me while I'm holed up in the bathroom.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on the Flintstones. Almost all sitcoms I've seen from that era seem very "traditional". Bewitched, for instance, is all about Samantha trying to become the perfect housewife; I Dream of Jeanie is about a woman whose sole job it is is to be totally subservient to her "master". In both cases, it's the woman's inability to live up to her role that makes the men go mad and drives the comedy.
It's all rather dodgy by today's standards!
Boomerang is the one channel that will stop Turbo dead in his tracks. He will sit like a zombie and watch for hours. For the most part I like Boomerang better than the Cartoon Network.
Boomerang is the BEST for being stuck while sick!
Hope you feel better soon and maybe the little one will lose his voice from all the screaming and give you 5 minutes peace. Oh wait - did I just wish sickness on someone else's kid, I apologize, I usually only wish that on my own.

I'm so sorry, honey. This bug is definitely making the rounds everywhere. I hope it passes quickly. Whenever I get a tummy bug (most recently about a month ago), the saving grace is that I lose a few pounds without trying. LOL!
