The happiest place in our house is the Lovie Pile.
We took a Hot Wheels car bed that my parents
found at the flea market and took out the mattress.
Then, we filled it up with stuffed animals
that we've collected over the years.
We have an embarrassingly large collection of lovies.
Don't judge us.

It's the perfect place for my little sensory monster
to take refuge and burrow into the Lovies.
He gets some really great sensory input
from those furry little guys
and it calms him down.
The boys climb in and roll around and laugh
and roll around and laugh some more.
It's the perfect place to channel wild and crazy energy.
We send Griffin to the Lovie Pile often.
The moment he acts wonky
I toss him in there.
Other times, it's just right for a moment of quiet exploration.

It reminds me of the scene in ET when the alien blends in with the stuffed animals. What fun for the kids!
that's cool...We have the same exact bed...and no one is using it...time for a lovie pile!
Such a creative idea!
OH man I would need a whole room for the lovies that are stored in our garage. My mom as she has gotten older has fallen in love with her babies as she calls them. Every seond hand store has them and she MUST own them.. and if they do something that makes them even better..
It looks very cozy.
I love it! When our twins were smaller, their older brother (who's really only barely a year older) would toss all of our stuffed animals into their cribs. They thought it was hilarious!
My best friend has a son with Autism and he does the same thing. What a great place for your kiddos!
Best idea ever!!! The perfect place for "tumble-time" and a great way to expel energy in a calming way. I never would have thought of this. A great place to keep all the lovies and play!
I agree - Best idea ever!!
Hi Leigh! (I love your name.) Thanks for the visit to my blog! I would love to do that link up for the happiness on Tuesday project! Sounds like a great idea.
(Now I hope I remember to do it!) I will definitely grab your button, which is so cute and have it up on my side bar!
I LOVE that orange leaf too ... its it for real????
Funny thing - laundry is my favorite household chore. I used to do laundry as a business for my friend's who hated doing it ... then I had to get a real job. :(
This is sheer mothering genius. To be sent to the Lovie Pile when you're acting out and need some comfort or just plain down time.
I am going to tell people about this one!
=)
Great idea! I'm going ot check out the link. I've got an autistic child with sensory issues. Thanks!!!
I love that, and what a totally cute way to store the toys!!
that looks like so much fun!
What a wonderful idea! I really love that...your son obviously does too:) Hmmm...thinking how I can do something like that, my kids would be crazy for it!
I LOVE this idea Leigh!
What a great idea! We actually have that bed, but my 4 yr old uses it now. If you have a chance, could you email me and let me know how you knew your child had sensory processing disorder? I'm noticing things in one of my twins and it makes me wonder. Thanks!
