I just love the way fall casually makes it's appearance.
The other morning I woke up
and little splashes of red and orange
were peaking above green leaves.
The air subtly seemed just a bit cooler.
We rolled down the windows and felt
the crisp wind blow our hair around the car as we drove.
It felt amazing and we all took in deep breaths.
Oh, the autumn light is breathtaking.
The morning sun is more golden, even if it's just by a shade,
and drenches the earth in a warm glow.
I love seeing the light shimmer over tall grass.
Huge boxes of pumpkins show up
in front of the entrance of the grocery store,
announcing that festive times are just ahead.
I fight the urge to buy one on the spot
because I know that a Pumpkin Patch trip is in our future.
Yet, I always stop by to marvel at their arrival
and say hello as I glide by with my shopping cart.
I just love when my closet is taken over
by rich colors, longer sleeves, and fuzzy textures.
The annual rotating of my clothes marks
the true arrival of fall.
My spring dresses find a place in the back of my closet
and my sandals get tucked away in boxes.
to be replaced by boots and cardigans.
The beginning of fall makes me so very happy!

I love fall too. beautiful photos.
I love love love fall, aside from spring probably my favorite season. Hot apple cider aroma wafting. I think we are gonna take the kids to the pumpkin patch this weekend. Our local one is free to go to with a corn maze they love. I try not to panic if they have been in the maze longer than I am comfortable with... I know I know.

Oh my - I completely agree. I love the rich colors & all the textures that not only come in to my closet but are all around me this time of year. Granted I have to travel several hours from home to find them still (we are in the mid 90's this week) but the fact that it's not blistering hot outside gets me excited for fall & all that comes with it.
I love fall. It's my favourite season. And one I truly miss.
