The best seashells are the ones cloected from the beach...each one is not only filled with the sound of the ocean but also hold such precious memories! They are magical...
I love sea-shells, and anything else interesting that the sea might bring up! I really would one of those massive big piece of drift-wood to go in my garden, but I was looking at some pieces from Canada and they cost a fortune! But I love the shapes and texture of them. Yes, I agree, those bags of fake sea-shells just look tacky.
I thought I was the only one that did this. My prize is the rock of coral from Hawaii. I display them in a tray on the back porch and every once in awhile, Roxy will hid them through out the yard so I can find and collect them again.
I love the beach - there's probably nothing that makes me for centered and peaceful. I used to go there when I got stressed out in grad school and it would give me this sense that everything is going to be okay. Sea shells are just wonderful.
Just checked your newparent.com article out! Cool! I have tons to say about co-sleeping, but won't 'cause this is your blog, not mine. Instead I'll share how jealous I am of any person who has access to sea shells at the moment. I am 100% over winter and not afraid to say it.
I love collecting seashells every time I go to the beach. Can't believe I'm actually moving to the beach! Gonna be at it all the time. :):) Which beach did you pick these off of?
OMG, I do that too Leigh. I have bowls and jars filled with sand and shells. I started years ago and when I head to the shore, that's my fave thing to do. Get up early and scour the beach. I would love to retire on the Gulf:)
My name is Leigh and this blog follows my misadventures as a stay at home mom. Read as I juggle housework, motherhood, creativity, and delusions of grandeur. I am inept throwback to the 1950′s housewife, so this blog gives a modern twist to a retro lifestyle. With a focus on the drama and joys of everyday life, sometimes heartfelt but usually hilarious observations unfold. All the while my ignored laundry pile grows by leaps and bounds.

OOH I love seashells. I also hate the prepackaged shells they sell at like Walmart and wherever. Those are not seashells..
I have spent the last two days on the beach collecting shells...so much fun.
Hugs, andrea

My wife likes collecting shells too. Her favorite thing is being at the beach, and bringing them home keeps her connected to the shore.
