Day of the Dead and a completely unrelated prayer request.

Some of you may remember that I set a goal for myself
to show art in a real gallery by the end of this year.
Our refrigerator just is not the best place for people to view my talents.
So, I jumped way out of my comfort zone and participated in a group show
at a gallery in Atlanta called Youngblood.
The Day of the Dead show featured art work on miniature coffins.

I had a blast creating my coffin and it felt so amazing to
see it hanging on the wall in the show.

The title of my piece is...

Photobucket

The Final Chapter

Watch out world...
I've caught the art bug.
Hopefully, there will be more shows to come.

In other news,
say a prayer for little Koen.
He is getting tubes put in his ears
and his adenoids taken out early this morning.

Say a prayer for me too,
I'm feeling a bit nervous about the whole thing.
I must be a brave mama!

Leigh, your piece is amazing. I love how you have a dress made of fabric imprinted with an old photograph hanging in the tree. Totally brilliant and unexpected. Your mind is so creative! Keep it up and keep us posted.

Thinking and praying for your little Koen. I had tubes when I was a child b/c of constant ear infections. My parents still remember the day I had them put in. Sending love your way!

No doubt harder on momma than the babe...you'll be in my thoughts and prayers. Likely you're finished now but all the same....

And how fantastically wonderful! Kudos to you and the coffin is fantastic! An amazing acomplishment!

Congrats on the art show! I'm sure you guys are home by now but you're in my thoughts and prayers anyway. I hope you had a relatively stress-free day.

Cool coffin! =)

It's always scary when kids have surgeries, even minor ones. I will definitely say a prayer for you both.
