52 Weeks of Happiness :: Week 1

Photobucket

The flowers are blooming.

Photobucket

The other day I was driving to the grocery store
when I noticed this beautiful Bradford Pear tree.
It took my breath away as I drove past it
and I knew that I wanted to go back to photograph
the first blooms that I had seen this spring.

Photobucket

So, I called my mom
and asked her if she would drive me and Koen
around so that I could photograph some flowers.

Photobucket

She obliged me and chauffeured me
as we scouted out beautiful flowers along the way.

I would say "Over there!" and she would pull over.
Then I'd hop out of the car to snap a photo
while her and Koen waited in the car.
I'd jump back in like a bandit
that had just stolen a beautiful memory.

I felt so supported and loved by my mama,
who still fosters my creative endeavors
into my adult years.

Photobucket

I even sprawled out on the ground to grab a capture
of purple weeds that grow wild in fields near my home.
They just look so pretty as I drive by.

I realize that so much about that morning
made me happy.
Taking the time to slow down
and appreciate my surroundings.

I love that the trees look like
dressed up ladies
that wave as I go by.

I love it that my mama
still shows me that she loves me
in the most simple ways.

What a wonderful way to spend time with your mama.

It is wonderful that you know one of the best parts of life. Slowing down and really seeing what is around you, adds so much joy to your life, and also erases a lot of the negativity we sometimes allow to consume us.

Lovely pictures of the blooming flowers.

So beautiful. My mom does the same thing with driving me around while I run out of the car. Only I'm running into Costco or the grocery store while you are photographing beautiful things. Almost the same, right? :)
