Cranky Mama

I have an eye twitch and
I got it from my kids.

My kids like to spat
at 6:30 am.
It makes me bonkers.

I look like a crazy monkey half the time.

I can't find my lipstick.

I just realized that the last time
I showered was 5 days ago.

I gained 12 pounds over the summer
because food loves me when I'm cranky
and I love food
and we love each other.

Now my clothes are too tight.

Mama needs a hug,
but a gentle one,

not a commando style hug
where I get knocked on the floor
and lightly choked
like the ones my 6 year old gives me.

Those kind of hugs
make my eye twitch.

LOL with a small tear in the corner of my eye! Your Cranky Mama comments resonate with so many moms who are still emerging from summer parenting of any combination of infants, toddlers, and kids. That monkey-like eye twitch will dissolve, as will those summer pounds. Looking forward to that update!

Haaaaahhhhhaaaaa!!! I love you Leigh!

Seriously, I have en eye twitch too. But the good Lord knows I'm trying to keep it sweet over here!

Gotta love those commando style hugs. I can tell you know that I know of what you speak--Oliver is not a gentle snuggler, he likes to grab my face in his vice griped claw of a hand with full force and squeeze it. And yes we're talking about an 11 month old! :)

and if it further proves my point there are so many typos in my above comment I won't even try to correct them!

I gained weight over the summer to which I found ironic because I was more active than ever.

I'm sending you a nice light hug.

My eye is all twitchy today, too.

Just reading this made my eye twitch in sympathy. I remember it well.

Here's a light virtual hug, from one twitchy-eyed mom to another. Hang in there. :)

Everybody farting at the dinner table makes my eye twitch. These children are getting older and how can I possibly send them out into the world with the current set of manners...maybe they just save that gassy love for me...that makes my eye twitch too! LOVED your post!

I know that eye twitch. School starts up soon. Hopefully the eye twitch will go away before then though.

I love the part about the "gentle hug"...mine are usually the 5-year-old commando-styled ones, too. I hear ya, girl.

Oh Mama. You're so good at saying it out loud.
