Deck the Halls with Poison Ivy

Photobucket

Our mantel is looking very Halloweeny!

The boys love it
and show it off to any visitors
that happen to stop by.

I just love watching them
proudly point out each spooky detail.

and ghostly lanterns.

I just love transforming my mantel
to celebrate the season.

To me it is pretty important to create
a sense of home
and create traditions.

It's my job to give my kids
a childhood to remember...

one silly mantel at a time.

How cute.. Christmas is my thing, although hubby would do our whole yard for halloween complete with a walk through haunted trail or something given the time and money to do it.

My kids are 11 and 14,and as I put out the last of the decorations over the weekend., I wondered why...if they were too old to appreciate them. Then I realized how much I still like them, and it is something they have always known---like your children who are so enthused. I can't expect them to "ooh" and "ah", but that doesn't mean they don't still like it, right?

How cute! My kids love to see decorations out. I really wish I had a mantle so I could do stuff like that, too.

I've always done the same.

Even as adults, I think they appreciate it.

I love the vintage look. Your boys will always remember how festive your house looked for Halloween! Fun to make such a sweet memory.
