Life's playlist :: Bad Company

My hand me down Luxury Lincoln Towncar that I inherited from my grandmother does not have a CD player. We are stuck with a tape deck and since it is not the year 1986, we rely on the radio to provide listening enjoyment as we drive around town. This has provided countless hours of entertainment as we listen to 97.1 The River. My kids are being exposed to all kinds of inappropriate classic rock and Griffin totally gets into it.

A song that has been in full rotation is "Feel like making love" by Bad Company. I realize that it is potentially gross to listen to such a song with your child but Griffin has a way of changing the lyrics into something a bit more age appropriate. I want you to listen to this song and pretend like you are a 5 year old boy. It will take you a minute to get to the chorus but trust me, it will be SO worth it. Okay, if you just can't stand listening to Bad Company then go ahead and take it to the 55 second mark.

Now, whenever you hear the words "I feel like making love" I'd like for you to close your eyes, put a fist in the air, and sing aloud the words "A real life Dracula".

Yes, you read that right...sing "A real life Dracula" to the tune of "I feel like making love".

That is what happens in the backseat of my car on a regular basis and it is awesome!

Welcome to my world and enjoy!

That is awesome! My kids have their own version of nearly every song on the radio (which is probably a good thing! LOL) and I just love listening to them make up their own words :)

First off, I love Bad Company!

I love hearing my kids try to sing the songs I listen to, especially my 4 year old. He makes up nonsense words. Sometimes that's a good thing!

So funny! We've exposed our children to all sorts of "inappropriate" music. I'm pretty sure my mom would be shocked to hear my kids singing Three Doors Down and Jimmy Eat World.

That is hilarious and awesome! I love it when kids (or myself for that matter) don't know what the lyrics are and make up their own. So funny!

We definitely listen to some lyrics I don't want to hear my 9 year old singing, but one of the recent funnu misinterpretations was hearing "Birthday Sex" as "Birthday Text"

What a cutie-pie! I remember doing that when I was little..I'd hear lyrics and make up words that sounded like whatever I thought it should be. Then years later I'd hear the song and think "OH! That's what they were saying!"
The next time I hear this song I know I'll be singing Griffin's version!

Oh man that is sooo awesome! I am totally going to sing it that way. Also, play Amadeus for your son and see if he sings "hot potatoes, hot potatoes, oh oh oh hot potatoes".

Hilarious! I used to listen to 'regular' music once in a while, but my older daughter would ask questions about the lyrics way before I was ready! ("Mommy, what's a gigolo?") ;-)
