We decided to take the path less traveled and marvel
at all the small hidden things that nature has to offer.
at all the small hidden things that nature has to offer.
Like this amazing spider web that would
make even Charlotte jealous.
make even Charlotte jealous.
Or sweet little mushrooms that tiny frogs
can hide under when it rains.
can hide under when it rains.
Griffin stopped to record our findings in his field journal.
We saw a crazy fungus clinging to a fallen tree.
Perhaps the most amazing discovery
was when we happened upon
a barn owl perched on a tree branch.
We all stopped to check each other out.
He didn't seem impressed by us.
It was such an awesome journey into the woods.

I love exploring too :-)
I love adventures like this! We looked for arrowheads in the creek bed this weekend. Lil Duck LOVED it!

What a fantastic time your family had, and the owl is truly amazing!
Finding that owl is so cool!
Lovely your woodland captures!
I am so jealous of that owl shot! Wow!
It sounds like a beautiful day! I love that your son has a field journal :) Nice pictures, too --
I feel as if I've just read an amazing children's book! Wonderful adventure and fantastic photos that captured each sweet moment!
That Owl is beautiful!
Not only are you taking time to show your children the wonders of a magical world, but I love how you see the world through their eyes.
All children should have a mother such as you, Leigh.
The great outdoors is so magical when you're young. Even the darn spider's web. I envy that your child is still young enough to mold and impress! Mine is 35 and has been jaded since the age of 11.
The up close owl is incredible, and I love the spider web and the tiny white mushrooms! Great expedition as usual! :)
What a cool nature walk!
=)
