The Mission List is dedicated to helping women
use their online influence for social good.

Over the next 10 days, I will be teaming up with Water.org

safe drinking water to 100 people for life.

For the next 10 days I will be showing gratitude
for my family's easy access to water
and sharing with you the momen
ts that
we can easily take for granted.

Day 7

We always take a big ol' jug of
super cold water to soccer practice with us.

Griffin runs over and takes a huge drink
when the coach has them take a water break.
Watching him re-hydrate without a second thought is a total luxury
and one that I am so thankful for!

Especially when I know
the heartbreaking facts about
how the water crisis affects children.

Only $25 brings one person water for life and
I am trying to raise enough money
to help change the lives of ten people.
I’d love for you to join me.

52 Weeks of Happiness :: Week 27

DSC_0019-2

I know that my dad loves me because
he paid for me to go to the roller derby.
My friends and I had a night on the town
and went to cheer on The Classic City Roller Girls.

Untitled-11

It was SO much fun!
The action was awesome and
the crowd was rowdy.

We screamed, yelled, rang cowbells,
wished we were tough enough to be roller girls,
and spent much of the jams trying to come up
with our fictional roller derby names.

Mine is "Grizz-leigh Smash-ems".

Of course, we were such moms about the whole thing
and were constantly looking up the rules of the game in our programs.

It was so funny to see all of us with our noses
buried in the books and trying to understand
just exactly what was going on.

We never really figured it out.

CSC_0071

After screaming my head off,
it sure was nice to drink a bottle of cold water
to sooth my tired throat.

I was grateful that I could just walk
right on over to the bar and buy a drink.

Especially when I know that
that 780 million people
lack access to an improved water source;
approximately one in nine people.

Today is Day 6 of my 10 Day Blogging Challenge
with Water.org and a whole team of fellow bloggers
who are trying to raise $2,500 -- enough money to bring clean,
safe drinking water to 100 people.

Day 5

My bathroom is like a sacred space.
It's a little sanctuary for me to
hide from my kids,
pamper myself,
and do my business
in a relaxing room.

This is a gift that I am so thankful for.
Especially when I think
of the people in the world
that don't even have access to a restroom
because they don't have clean water.

Day 4

Untitled-10

I like lazy Sunday mornings.
Things just move slower on the weekend
and I love to sit and sip
on a mug of hot tea to get the day started.

What a luxury that is for me.
As I take in the wonderful aroma
and drink down that last sip that is mostly hot honey,
I take a moment of gratitude.

I am so blessed to live such a sweet life.

It's easy to have a thankful heart when
you know the staggering facts about the global water crisis.

Fact:

Over the weekend we have plans
to go swimming as a family at the YWCO pool.

As a matter of fact,
I've been swimming 3 days a week for exercise.

I am so grateful to live in a country
where clean water is so abundant
that we can do cannonballs into the pool
without a care in the world.

It's easy to have a thankful heart
when you know the facts about the global water crisis.
